Dry scale look.

Anyone know what it is when your betta has dry looking scales? My brothers betta had it and a couple of days afterward it died? I didn't know if it was fungus or the water.

i never seen dry scales, but ive seen like DROPSY where the scales pop out puffy.

it wasn't popping out. i know that one because a lot of my females from the past had that. i usually put them on a diet if i see that.
This one I've never seen before. almost looked like it shriveled him up dry. like he needed major lotionning up. maybe he lost his slime coat that he use to have.
