Alll my fish died

I was tricked into believing that my tap water was good. I did'nt check the water correctly, gave me a false reading and so i didnt treat it.

my question is can you bring a fish from the brink back? he was gasping for air, I changed him into RO water and waited to see, he seemed to do better, taking deeper breaths and then died.

any tricks to bring fish back from the brink?

airate water?
dark room?
swish water? lol

yea i suggest always using RO or treating your water overnight then retesting the water for ph, hardness etc... a great idea is to keep a heater and air pump with air stone in the bucket you are aging your water in. this is to airate it and keep it the same temperature. bettas will die if they are shocked.

a good use of curing bettas = IAL = Indian Almond Leaves. or teabags which they do come in also. treat that with drinking water. or filter water. the TAP will kill your fish. i never trusted or believe in that myth.

now if you were to cure wounds, its IAL + a few drops of melafix (MELAFIX is a strong medication. so be careful on how much you put in the water size, too much will kill your injured betta) and about 2-3 inches of water in a hospital tank.

SPEAKING OF TANK, i found some really nice awesome jars at wal-mart the other day. i had to take all 4 of the sizes i liked. the larger one i left it there. but back a few years ago = best betta jars and still is till now = BEANIE BOXES, you can find them in bulk sales on ebay. they work the best for homing/pairing/ and looks for bettas. there's the tall one and short ones.

short one = for conditioning and pairing out a pair you wanna breed.

tall one = for home looks, and also for FIGHTERS .(cause most fighters should be home in a 1/2 gallon or a 1 gallon jar.) best i think recommend.

Yea this was definitely a novice mistake... i should have known better. looking to get an RO machine installed in my sink. that will be nice.

when i do hospital tank and betta water changes. i dont use any new waters at all. it makes me concern. so what i do is prep the water in advance with IAL water. or else i use my clean healthy aquarium water + IAL.


i mostly use clean aquarium water. because its natural aquatic bacteria. i never had issues with that in the past. you should try it. also that helps you do water changes. on the bettas + the aquarium tank.

i know goldfish world sells dark water drop.. is that the same as IAL?

Don't know about the dark water drops but if you could find balckwater it works as IAL.

that blue medicine is call something else. the blue water only helps to prevent temperate fluctuation going up and down . which slows it down to help your fish body get use to temperature changing, not the same as IAL to be honest from my experiences. Pet stores uses that blue water drops due to to keep their bettas alive as the temperature goes up and down at the shop or area. IAL is to harden their scales and natural water nutrients but IAL can dirty your water fast where you have to change it. due to its bacteria it gives out.

IF you dont mind calling KAZ and ask him, what is the name of it. he always has it for stock due to his inventory and also his customers. im sure he will give you the name of it. KAZ = as of in fresno guy.

I think the blue water that Kaz use is called Methalyne blue? or along the lines of that.

Methalyne Blue is different from ICK medicine right? i havent done any research yet on it.

Thats what he uses? i've always wonder what it was that he uses. I never bother to ask because i get distracted whenever i see the fishes....lol I do have some ick meds that turns the water blue but the color is different from that Methalyne Blue.

mythalyne blue is to keep temperature from not jumping up in down so much. so the fish wont stress out. but its not like its guaranteed. but it helps and works slightly. better than nothing. ick medicine is blue but its just a strong med scent.
