Well hello guys! My new betta that I just bought had spawned after about 6 days. His color is a gray blue and black body color i think. And the female is a blue with little red and black body. They seem to be a good pair together. Well they spawned on March 18 at around 10:30am to 2:00pm. The male made 2 nest that night (First time I've ever seen this). The eggs hatched on March 19 at around 7:00pm. While spectating I noticed that there was a lot of eggs and fry dropping so then I figured he made the other nest because one nest wasn't enough. The male was very busy that night collecting fry and eggs that were dropping. But when I got up today I think he had given up on picking up the fry cause he was just chilling around watching the fry swim up and all. I'm not sure what is happening but I hope the ones that are at the bottom are doing well. Plus I have some fry venturing off to wherever they are going. They seem strong enough to be swimming off now but they are still very small.

if you are concern. remove the male. and put mythalyne blue. to prevent bacteria unhatch eggs infection. it can spread if not treated. due to unhatch/unfertalized eggs.

i received a great tip from Sd_bettas. He stated that you should keep water levels between 2 1/2 inches so that if you need to remove the male the fry have a fighting chance of being able to swim up to the top.

Thanks guys! I just removed the male last night. He did pretty well. I think it was because i watching him that's why he stopped haha. But the batch turned out good, most are free swimming and a couple are still hanging in the nest. They should be fine without their dad from now on. There's so many of them!! haha but It's all good. Here is a vid of when the eggs hatched and everyone starts falling haha sorry the phone quality sucks. And yea i used about 2-3 inches of water in a 20 tall tank.

Agree, siphon out the dirty stuff and very slowly add water back to the same height it was.
